Placenta Encapsulation

Placenta encapsulation is a process by which the placenta is cleaned, steamed, dehydrated, crushed into powder form, and placed into gel capsules for easy consumption.

King of Prussia Doulas prides itself on offering the safest, most reliable placenta encapsulation services available.

From the delivery of your placenta through the encapsulation process, rest assured, you will know exactly where your placenta is, who has handled it and what if anything it has come in contact with. You will always know where it is, as you will be given the safest instruction on how to transport it to your home.

This matters because your safety is of the utmost importance! King of Prussia Doulas adheres to OSHA guidelines regarding blood borne pathogens, infection transmission, food safety handling, and sanitation. You can rest easy knowing the materials used to encapsulate your placenta are disposable or thoroughly sanitized between use.

Once you arrive home with your placenta, your encapsulation specialist will visit you 2 days in a row for approximately 2 hours each day to complete the process.

Your encapsulation specialist will sanitize a designated area in your kitchen before and after processing and will bring all of the necessary equipment for safe encapsulation. During the process, you or your family members are welcome to watch and learn about the fascinating organ that sustained your baby in utero!

Many families find the early postpartum period to be a challenging adjustment. Having additional support can ease this transition. Our encapsulation services include complimentary postpartum support. Your encapsulation specialist can answer your newborn care questions, share tips and tricks for comforting and soothing your baby, assist with infant feeding, and offer vetted local resources as needed.
