My husband and I cannot speak highly enough about our experience with KOP Doulas, specifically our doula, Melissa. From my first call with Melissa, we struck up an instant rapport. I felt like she was a long time friend, but was also confident in her knowledge about pregnancy and birth. I felt comfortable asking her questions that I would typically be embarrassed about leading up to the birth. She encouraged me to contact her for anything at any time and always responded to me asap.

My delivery went very differently than I expected. My water broke with no signs of contractions beforehand, and my labor progressed very rapidly. Melissa dropped everything and met us at the hospital asap. She managed to make the hospital room seem as cozy and like home as possible by providing relaxing scents in a diffuser. She provided us with emotional support and acted as an advocate for what we wanted and needed. Even though my delivery was very different from what I had researched and expected, it will forever be one of my most beautiful memories. Melissa’s presence made my husband and I more confident and supported the entire time. It’s hard to imagine the experience without her.

After the birth, Melissa stayed to help for the first time my son latched. She is so knowledgeable about breastfeeding, and I think having her expertise helped us establish what has become our successful breastfeeding routine. Even after we got home, Melissa checked in to see how we are doing.

Overall, the best thing about Melissa is that she really loves what she does, is good at what she does and genuinely cares about the parents she supports. Of we ever have another child, we hope to be lucky enough to have her help again.

Whenever I leave class, I feel more and more confident AND excited to labor and see just what my body is capable of. So I can only assume that the others feel the same way too. We are now armed with a useful and realistic education. And that is really up-lifting.

For the birth of my third child, as a labor and postpartum doula myself, I STILL needed and benefitted from hiring a doula. Lacey was EXACTLY what I needed for my third birth experience. She was calm, reassuring, and supportive for both me and for my husband. I had very specific goals for my third and possibly final birth experience. Lacey listened to my hopes and my concerns and she offered physical support when I needed it. I left this birth with a positive memory and felt so strong and supported. I urge EVERYONE to include a doula on their birthing team!

After having a difficult birth and recovery with my first son, my family knew we needed the extra help and support after the birth of my second son, especially with an energetic toddler in the house. Jalecia was a great support to me and my family after the birth. Her patience and calmness are such great qualities she possesses, in particular dealing with my 2 year old that was having a hard time adjusting to a new baby in the house. She was also a great help with my newborn, and it was so comforting to know he was receiving the best care and love by someone that was so experienced with newborns. And last, but not least, the daily help with with laundry, dishes, tidying etc was so well appreciated it. I would highly recommend Jalecia and King of Prussia Doulas to anyone considering!

This was my first pregnancy. My husband and I went to some classes but we knew we were not prepared for that day. Now my father has been in the room with my sisters, being their coach, but my father passed away 1.5 years so I knew we needed help.

My water broke 2.5 weeks before my due date, the day of my baby shower and when we made that 5:15am call Laura was right there.  She called and texted us all day until we were ready to go to the hospital. My birthing plan was to have her naturally with no drugs but I was very nervous. Laura texted us the whole time we were at the hospital. She told us to call her when we were ready for her to come to the hospital. When Laura got to the hospital I was relaxing in the Jacuzzi.  Laura quickly told me that I needed to move around because I was not gonna be ready to give birth by time the doctor came in the next morning at 10:30 AM. Thank God she came because when the doctor arrived I was 4 cm dilated and by 1:30/2pm was 8 cm dilated and was ready to push. Now during this time my contractions were coming on stronger and I forgot all about my birth plan Laura was right there ensuring that my plan was put into motion. Laura was able to step in and speak to the midwife and the nurses when I was ready to push. I had a vaginal birth with no drugs but did get nitrous oxide for pain management.

I thank King of Prussia Doulas and Laura for being there for me and my husband when we delivered a precious baby girl. With the help of Laura I was able to honor my father and stick to my birthing plan. Even after we gave birth they have still been a great support for us especially being first time parents. I would recommend King of Prussia Doulas and Laura to all my friends and family.
