We cannot recommend Shannon & Danielle and KOP doulas enough. They provided education and support during prenatal appointments and breast feeding class to prepare us for post-partum and most importantly were by our side during an incredibly long labor- we’re so glad we chose to work with them!

They helped us come up with our birth plan early on- which, for the most part went out the window as soon as we started what would be a 60 hour induction due to post-dates. However, for the items in our plan we had more control over (no coached pushing, labor positions, eating during labor, postponing starting penicillin due to GBS), Shannon (who was present during labor going above and beyond staying over 30 hours!!) advocated for us every step of the way- especially when some of the hospital staff was pushing back against some of our wishes.

I had had every intention of going unmedicated but after probably 36 hours of labor with no end in sight, I was very much struggling with exhaustion and pain management. Shannon helped go over our options and along with my husband, made me feel very supported in getting the help I needed to make it through delivery.

From the beginning we were interested in working with doulas not only for myself, but also for my husband. Shannon helped explain things to him and keep him calm throughout labor so he could be the support person I needed.

We had interviewed several doulas when we began our search and we’re so glad we went with Shannon & Danielle- they were a key part of our team and we couldn’t imagine having navigated our first pregnancy/labor without them!

If you want to learn about all the odds and ends about breastfeeding make sure you take the infant feeding class!  I feel much more prepared for my breastfeeding journey ahead and if I did not take this class I don’t know if I would truly be ready. ~Samantha M.

The infant feeding class with Michele was extremely informative. My husband and I left feeling so much more confident with our decision to breastfeed. Our instructor, Michele, was incredibly knowledgeable, and she presented her information in a very matter-of-fact, laidback way. Her class led to having deep dialogue about the new information learned, and made us so excited to embark on this breastfeeding journey! King of Prussia Doulas was the best decision my husband and I made during pregnancy. From the start they were responsive, caring, and supportive. I was paired up with the most amazing Doulas, Lacey and Jackie. Together they educated me on birth/postpartum, supported me daily as I had questions, and empowered me to make educated decisions that I felt good about. For example, I wasn’t happy with my OBGYN, but at 35 weeks pregnant I worried it was too late to switch. Lacey and Jackie helped me research my options. They’re help and support was critical and I ultimately switched to a new OBGYN who I was much happier with.

Lacey and Jackie encouraged me to attend the breastfeeding class with Melissa where I was educated on proper latching, benefits of breastfeeding, and more. This set me up for success.

Lacey attended my birth and was the greatest source of support to both me and my husband. Her coaching helped me to stay calm, focused and manage the pain of my contractions. She made sure my birth plan was followed and advocated for me every step of the way with grace and respect. Having Lacey and Jackie as my support was honestly a life changing experience. I felt so loved and supported by them, and my husband felt the same. We will absolutely hire them again for our next birth and we have already recommend them to our pregnant friends. ~Gwen P.
