Highly Recommend ! Sarah & Jalecia Were Amazing

As someone who was terrified of pregnancy and childbirth and who had anxiety about it, I found my experience with KOP doulas so helpful. Jalecia and Sarah made me feel so comfortable and confident , and made me feel like I could do it without being afraid. I ended up having a c-section, but Sarah’s support in the hospital was so great in keeping our spirits up, centering our focus around this special moment, and easing anxieties. I also felt like I had a strong advocate in the hospital which was awesome.

Sarah and Jalecia were also so easy to communicate with and very responsive any time I had questions about pregnancy.

We also found the childbirth class extremely informative and helpful as first time parents.

Highly recommend KOP doulas!

After a traumatic first birth,

After a traumatic first birth, I knew I had to hire a doula the second time around. I had an amazing experience with KOPD with my second child and once again with my third. I recommend them to everyone I know! Truly could not have had as great of a birth experience as I did without having a doula.

Working with KOP doulas is

Working with KOP doulas is one of the best decisions we have ever made. The medical world can be intimidating, so having an advocate that can support and represent your wishes is incredibly helpful. The support and resources during pregnancy ensured we could approach the due date with confidence. During labor, Alex was extremely communicative and quite literally changed the outcome of the delivery. These doulas are engaging, empathetic, and extremely knowledgeable – if you are on the fence, this is your sign to work with them!

The doulas at KOP Doulas

The doulas at KOP Doulas are really fantastic! I wanted to experience a natural birth and they were fantastic coaches, both before the birth as well as during the birth. They are fantastic at providing a resource to numerous questions, and really work to give you the experience that you want. I would highly recommend!

My husband and I worked

My husband and I worked with Larissa and Tia for the birth of our son. We weren’t supposed to be able to have children (less than a 2% chance supposedly), so everything about this pregnancy was a surprise to us and felt very high stakes from the start to get to the finish line with a healthy baby. I also have some complex medical conditions that made this a high risk pregnancy and required an inducement at 39 weeks to decrease the risk of a stillbirth. We took a childbirth class with King of Prussia Doulas and enjoyed the experience so much that we decided that having doula support would be a good choice for us. It was the best choice we made.

Larissa and Tia were kind, professional, and extremely knowledgeable from the start. They also were really good at providing the right amount and kind of support at the right time as we entered the last month of pregnancy. With my health conditions, they took the time to research them and propose a customized positioning plan for me. As my wants and opinions changed throughout the induction (i.e. no epidural to yes please, give it to me), they made me feel like I was making the right choice every time. Their education and preparation pre-birth actually made us feel empowered and solid in our rights to be able to ask for more time to think about options or to trust my intuition as the physicians were pressuring me into a c-section by Day 3. I ended up having a natural birth after all. However, I also appreciate the fact that they knew my goal was for us to survive, and apparently while I was dozing, they and my husband were discussing rational options to present to me to help me realize time might be up. That rationality was greatly appreciated too. It was a huge relief knowing that my husband had people there to support him as he watched me go through the hardest thing I’ve ever done. They had great emotional intelligence with a great handle on our personalities from just a few meetings with great interpersonal skills to give us each what we needed, when we needed it.

But I think their power is in the smaller touches. I already mentioned the personalized positioning plan to support my hypermobility in labor. They came with tons of resources for birth plans, affirmations, and postpartum support, with no pressure to use any of it, but just to have in case. Larissa had noticed I was a wavy-haired girl and brought silk (not cotton!) scrunchies in case I needed one for my hair, along with some other small tricks to help things go well. Tia tracked how long she heard from us and made sure to kindly check in through the night. The communication system was seamless. I ended up being ready to push right when they should have been changing over, but Larissa chose to stay since she had been there to see it all from the start of that day. Seeing the emotional investment both of them had in what was happening over those 72 hours meant everything.

While I’m not sure that I’d want to put my body back through something like this again, if we did end up having a second child, we wouldn’t hesitate to work with King of Prussia Doulas and specifically, Larissa and Tia, again.
