Kristen was wonderful to work with. She stepped in without hesitation and listened to all of our concerns and needs, which made us feel extremely at ease. She went above and beyond and followed up to check on our family in the weeks and months after she left. I would highly recommend Kristen to anyone looking for a caring, supportive and nurturing caretaker.

With this being our first child, my husband and I wanted to make sure that we had someone who had more experience than us. After meeting with Sarah and Abigail we felt that we were in good hands. It was very reassuring that we were able to meet with two doulas so that one of them was sure to show up and it would not be a stranger.

Leading up to my due date and after, the doulas checked in with me to see how I was doing and to make sure my questions were answered. The night I went into labor we were so thankful when Sarah showed up. For me I was in need of someone to help coach me through the pain I was feeling. My husband was very thankful that Sarah was there because he was worried about how I was acting while in labor. There was a lot of shaking and getting sick. While laboring at home Sarah helped me focus on breathing low and helped with distraction but just gently rubbing my leg or arms. It felt like having my mom there.

One thing I was worried about was getting to the birthing center too soon. Sarah was able to help us make the call on when to go. Around 2am we headed to the birthing center. Sarah brought a tens unit with her and I used that to get through the contractions while in the car for the hour ride.

When at the birthing center, Sarah was again a great source of comfort. She made sure I was drinking when I could while in labor as well as giving me her hair tie when mine went missing. During pushing Sarah helped the midwife with positioning me. When my son was born the cord was around his neck. I did not see this because the midwife cut the cord and moved him to help him breath, but my husband did. Sarah just reached out and rubbed his back and said that it will all be okay, which it was.

Over all having Sarah with us was the best choice. When ever I talk about my birth story I tell people how great it was that we had a doula. My husband and I agree that it was one of the best choices we made!

We had a great experience with both women even though we didn’t end up needing their services to the fullest extent given my c-section. BUT they were so supportive in helping guide our decision to schedule a c section given JT was breech. They walked us through what to expect with the surgery and that helped tremendously on the day of to know what to expect and feel less intimidated by the process.
Olivia took the lead with the conversations and made us feel at such ease. Her support the day of the surgery was also greatly appreciated to feel the comfort of knowing someone else was there to help Evan if he needed to make any quick decisions.

We had an amazing experience with Alex. She had great communication and was always a calming, reassuring, and supportive presence. During labor, she was worth her weight in GOLD. We were able to have the birth we wanted because of her immense support in positioning, counter pressure, and translating certain medical things to us that we were unsure about. All of our midwives that met her during labor raved about her later at our postpartum appointments. We couldn’t have done it without her!

We’ll be forever grateful for having Rachel with us for our daughter’s birth. Nothing went as “planned” but she was able to support us each step of the way and helped us feel confident & in control. She and Abby made a great team leading up to delivery and helped us to feel calm & prepared during those final weeks.
