Birthing a baby is hard work. Whether it is four hours or 34 hours, birth takes an amazing amount of physical and emotional endurance. One of the best ways to power through a birth is to be hydrated and replace electrolytes.

Did you know ACOG (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist) supports fluid intake during labor and birthing timeYou may want to avoid sports drinks since they are usually filled with sugars, artificial flavors, dyes, and usually contain little to no real fruit juice.

A cleaner way to stay hydrated is with something call Laborade. There are many options for recipes, so you can find one you like or tailor it to your tastes. The best part about this drink is it can be used during birthing time, postpartum, and even during the long, hot summer days at the beach or if you are working outside!

Option  1:

This recipe uses Epsom salt to help add Magnesium and sulfur, Celtic sea salt that has more than 80 trace minerals, cream of tartar which is a source of potassium, and juice which provides a little bit of sugar and energy.
